Training in functional martial arts is an excellent tool in the road to self discovery, personal growth and being a confident person without feeling the need to be cocky and having to constantly proof yourself to everyone.
As such, this type of training can be considered a metaphor for life, where hard work, dedication, prioritization and simply the refusal to give up, many times triumph over raw talent.
At our group, everybody trains, everybody gets hit and submitted – and this means that everybody grows and learns, and thus constantly improve. This is the only way to progress with reality based functional martial arts. We acknowledge the character building advantages of healthy competition, but we do not solely focus on competition training.
Our clients are regular people that come in all shapes, sizes, genders, personality types and fitness levels. Everybody is welcome, as long as you have the desire to train functionally and leave your ego at the door.
Training is fun and takes place in an ego-free, non-intimidating environment at your own pace. You’ll have to be somewhat fit, but you can take a break whenever you need to and improve progressively. It is recommended that you get approval from your doctor before taking part.
Although you will have to train in all the ranges to help develop the ability to adapt to the unpredictable nature of an ambush in a real confrontation, you will be encouraged to express yourself in whichever way suits you best, and use what works for you and your body type and attributes. Everybody grows at their own pace, and no-one will ever be forced to do anything they are not comfortable with.
