Combat Athletics
Combat Athletics is functional martial arts that are trained against resisting opponents. It focuses on the constant practical application of a few effective core techniques, rather than accumulation of numerous less effective techniques.
This approach is not a new one, but the evolution of Bruce Lee’s philosophy of Jeet Kune Do. It promotes the idea that each individual student has to develop his / her own approach, through being subjected to different approaches, constantly pressure testing techniques and thereby continuously developing that which works best for them.
The functional martial art that we train is a comprehensive blend of MMA, Boxing, Muay Thai, Greco Roman Wrestling, Wrestling, Judo, Jiu Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, etc. We are also one of very few gyms that bridges the gap between athletic combat sports type martial arts training, and functional Reality Based Personal Protection and Combatives, that also includes tactics and modern weapons. Although our goal is not so much to train for sport, but rather as complete combat athletes, we still use the same functional training methods and approach, but add the realistic street aspects as well.
